Do you have trouble getting to sleep?
Do you have problems staying alseep?
Do you wake up during the night?
For the last I was going to say umpteen months, but it’s probably been the last couple of years I have found as I get ready to go to bed, there is a I’m going to call an insomnia.
The kicks in there is certainly a feeling of distress and maybe a little bit of anxiety that’s been coming up that I’m not going to have a good night’s sleep. And I found it’s been quite repetitive. So what I did was I created some very quick Tapping routines for myself and I thought perhaps maybe people out there are also having trouble with some insomnia.
Maybe it’s not quite a insomnia. Maybe it’s just restless sleep. Maybe it’s trouble getting to sleep.
So I thought while I’m doing some tapping and I know it’s bit counterintuitive. I’m on the computer and it’s late at night, but I kind of turned the lights down to maybe give us a little bit of an ambience, the idea being going to do some tapping on what may be distressing me and stopping me from sleeping.
And maybe it’s the same thing from you.
So Let’s just start here on the karate chop point.
Even though I find I can’t fall asleep or I can’t stay asleep, I’m going to honour those thoughts. Even though I have trouble each night, falling asleep, staying asleep, waking up during the night, I’m going to honour my body and I’m going to honour those thoughts. Even though I have all these thoughts in my head. When I try to go to sleep or I wake up during the night and can’t get back to sleep? I’m going to honour those thoughts. I’m going to honour my body. I’m going to bring in a sense of calm,
Now lets just tap through the points.
The reason I can’t sleep, I don’t know what it is.
It’s like I go to bed then my mind comes to life.
I know I’ve had a really busy day and I’m probably havent spend much time in any level of down time.
So when I go to bed, it’s like my mind comes to life.
I like to calm down that chatter
Calm down my mind
Calm down my thoughts
All the things that are bothering me
All the thoughts running through my head,
All the thoughts that I’m having as I head off to my bed.
I’d really like a good night sleep.
I really love my mind to get quiet.
I’d love the chatter to stop.
I like my mind to calm,
My thoughts to stop racing for that thing that is bothering me.
Whatever that is for you.
With the thought come back tomorrow if it’s even that important.
I want my mind to calm down, to get a good night’s sleep,
To calm the chatter for that thought that bothering me
It can come back tomorrow if it’s even more important,
I look forward to good night’s sleep.
My mind and I, we look forward to a good night’s sleep.
We are so going to enjoy a good night’s sleep tonight.
My mind slow down.
My mind is calming.
Yawning already. All those thoughts are calming down
Quieting the brain
Quieting the thoughts
Looking forward to a great night sleep
Looking forward to falling asleep,
Looking forward to staying asleep.
Looking forward to that quietness.
Looking forward to the calm,
Looking forward to being restful.
Looking forward to the quiet.
The calm in my mind as I drift off to sleep.
You will note that I started with some of the things that are bothering me or some of the mind chatter, the monkey mind. And then I went into appreciating my mind for knowing that we’ll have a good sleep telling the body that the sleep tonight is going to be great. It’s going to be restful and it’s going to be calm so as you see, I started yawning already. I’m about to head off to my bed. I hope this is going to bring you a little bit of calm for your night’s sleep.
It only took us a couple of minutes. You could do it every night for quite a few nights. Just to reprogram your brain is to get that monkey mind to slow down, appreciate your body that it’s time to go to sleep and that you’re going to enjoy a great night’s sleep.
